Установка предназначена для работы в помещениях исследовательских, строительных и заводских лабораторий при температуре +10…+40ºС.
Установка обеспечивает выполнение испытаний образцов бетона на водонепроницаемость в автоматическом режиме. Управление работой установки осуществляется микроконтроллером в соответствии с установленными оператором исходными данными (высота образца и выдержка на ступени), при этом подъем и поддержание давления воды, выдержка на ступени, фиксация времени появления «мокрого пятна» на каждом из образцов и прекращение испытаний осуществляется автоматически.
Результаты испытаний заносятся в архив блока управления в реальном масштабе времени.
В процессе испытаний информация о давлении, ступени, времени испытаний и состоянии образцов выводится на графический дисплей.
Установка имеет энергонезависимую память на 99 результатов испытаний (серий) и режим передачи данных на ПК с возможностью последующей обработки данных и распечатки протокола испытаний.
В связи с введением в действие нового ГОСТ 12730.5–2018 «Бетоны. Методы определения водонепроницаемости» проведены изменения программного обеспечения установки для испытания бетона на водонепроницаемость УВБ-МГ4, добавлены два новых режима испытаний бетона:

Определение водонепроницаемости по глубине проникания воды под давлением.
